As they ride into the village, they see three bodies of men hanging on a gibbet. Not far into the village, they encounter Reeve Davros Mageblood, and elf in his late twenties. When they ask, he informs them that the three bodies are those of poachers. He seems a thoroughly dislikable fellow and seems inclined to arrest them just for being in Wildepond, especially the drow Tyrion and double so this strange dragonborn creature, the likes of which he has never seen before.
However, when the adventurers show him the tokens given to them by Baron Silverkin, he forgoes their arrest with an admonition to behave themselves in his village. They decide that it would be wiser not to spend the night in Wildepond. Passing through, they turn off the road to the northwest and make camp in the forest.
